Jatin Consulting is a private company that uses a typical consultancy model.
The company currently has a team of six enterprise development experts, with the intention of expanding this complement in the coming years.
These specialists will form part of the core team to deliver on contracts.
Jatin Consulting has formed several strategic partnerships that will provide additional delivery capacity.
New strategic partnerships are being pursued to broaden the network of experts to complement the core team.
Project teams with the relevant expertise and experience will be constituted to deliver on client contracts.
Project delivery will be underpinned by well-developed, tried-and-tested tools and guidelines.

Jatin Consulting currently has the following enterprise development experts within its network, the team have all worked together to successfully deliver on projects for clients:

Boyse Pillay

Boyse is currently the Director of Jatin Consulting (Pty) Ltd. His previous role was the Manager of the Enterprise Creation for Development programme at the CSIR. He has both engineering (B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering and MSc Industrial Engineering) and business (MBA) qualifications and has gained international experience by undertaking project work in various countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Botswana, Mauritius, Uganda, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Since 1994, Boyse has been involved in the economic development domain, specifically focusing on enterprise development and enterprise support programmes such as incubators and industrial parks within various industry sectors including manufacturing, renewable energy, agriculture and agro processing. He is passionate about using science and technology solutions in the fight against poverty and underdevelopment in South Africa and other developing countries.

Jan Lekalakala

Jan has spent more than 25 years of his career in the socio-economic domain at the CSIR. His responsibilities included conducting feasibility studies and implementing projects and programs to create and develop enterprises and enterprise support programs such as incubators and enterprise information centres.

Jan’s academic background includes a National Diploma in Chemical Engineering, BCom degree (Entrepreneurship) and BCom Honours (Business Management). His experience includes project and program management, opportunity assessment and packaging, and conducting socio-economic studies. His sectors of focus are mainly manufacturing, renewable energy and agro-processing.

Jan has a passion for socio-economic development. He is also currently a director of Kgoge Enterprise which focusses on both economic and enterprise development.

Dr Bernadette Brown Webb

Bernadette’s keen interest in life sciences led her to a career using science and technology solutions to develop businesses especially in the agro-processing, agriculture and aquaculture domain. She has an in-depth scientific background, and solid footing as a scientist and researcher through her PhD (Sustainable Agriculture) research, which was concluded in 2022. Her interests include small business development, the circular economy, sustainable agriculture and agro-processing.

Bernadette also has more than 20 years’ hands-on experience in socio-economic development. This gives her theoretical and practical business skills to execute a range of projects including investigation of opportunities through to establishment and improvement of business opportunities. She has worked in Southern Africa, including South Africa, Namibia and Mauritius. She is also proficient in policy and strategy development, planning and coordinating academic courses or programs.

Her social acumen gives her the ability to engage with role players in all layers of society, from senior experts to people on the ground. Bernadette is passionate about self-sustainability, and she includes this in her everyday personal life.

Kuvern Govender

Kuvern has more than 28 years’ experience in mining production, energy, supply chain and procurement domains. He has a BSc. Eng (Mechanical Engineering) qualification and a Government Certificate of Competency (Mines & Works) certification.

Kuvern has fulfilled various roles including maintenance, project management and implementation, mechanical design and construction management for Rio Tinto, Alcan, Murray & Roberts and Glencore. He is experienced in working in a team to achieve business objectives across all disciplines in project development, project execution, engineering, commissioning, operations and maintenance environments.

Alan Webb

Alan has more than 30 years of socio-economic development experience. He has been responsible for investigating numerous business opportunities and establishing manufacturing and agro-processing businesses.

With keen interest in manufacturing and sustainability, Alan has been able to complete a wide range of projects across several sectors, both locally and internationally. His work also includes studies and strategy development for local and international government departments and development agencies.

Alan is a practical generalist that likes to develop useful solutions.

Segren Reddy

Segren has extensive experience in maintenance, repair, modernisation and new equipment to provide cost effective and quality solutions to customers. He is the former Managing Director of Otis Elevators Southern Africa, where he worked for 25 years starting as an apprentice. He previously held the position of General Manager (Service) at General Electric Healthcare Africa for 4 years.

Segren is currently a Director of Relion Electrical (motor, drive and electronic board repairs) and Afri Industrial Systems (develops Internet of Things systems for building management, such as smart electricity control systems, smart HVAC control systems, smart electricity power meters and billing systems, and smart elevator diagnostics).

Kershnee Pillay

Kershnee has a strong background in general and financial administration. She provides office management support to ensure the smooth functioning of the business and assists with financial record keeping and management.

Kershnee also provides support to the business development and project implementation activities of Jatin Consulting. This involves assisting with the preparation of tenders and proposals, and data gathering and management.
